Roundup Weed Killer Lawsuits

The connection between Roundup and cancer is prompting a growing number of lawsuits around the country.

Roundup, a hugely popular weed killer made by chemical giant Monsanto, is commonly used by farmers, landscape workers and others. Now, some of those people are getting sick with a form or cancer called non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Others have been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, leukemia and other kinds of cancer.

Glyphosate linked to injuries

The main ingredient in Roundup, called glyphosate, is the subject of scrutiny by government agencies and non-profit research groups that say glyphosate is hazardous to human health. Dozens of lawsuits filed in courts from New York to California accuse Monsanto of hiding the risks of Roundup from consumers, and failing to warn the public and the risk of cancer. Recent news reports indicate Monsanto earned $4.8 billion in revenue from Roundup last year, even though questions are mounting about the safety of the product.
